After waffling about buying one for almost 2 months, I finally got the GoPro Smart Remote! (Amazon Affiliate Link) The main reason I didn’t buy it right away? Price. At $80 MSRP (as of this post), it’s expensive for what I need it for (moto vlogging). But is it worth it?
I set it up and tried it out… and yes, it’s worth it! Here’s my setup, well 2 setups actually, and my thoughts after using it for a while.
If you’re doing any kind of moto vlogging, this is a must-have accessory. If you just want to remotely operate your GoPro, this thing will make your life so much easier!
Pro Tip: Use a lanyard for moto vlogging. While it may flop around in the breeze some, it’s way better than mounting it to your vehicle, and makes for much faster editing times. You’ll no longer have to review hours of footage to find the 10 to 20 minutes you really want!
