My 2011 F150 XL was not supplied with the factory brake controller. Wiring harnesses for a controller were supplied.
After purchasing and installing a used OEM controller from an sales website, with a fully functioning tandem axel trailer connected to the F150, the trailer brakes immediately locked up when my F150 was started. The only way to relax the brakes was to unplug the brakes.
