The people at Motor Trend have spent some serious time with GM’s technology-laden electric car, the Chevrolet Volt, and it’s no surprise that they love it. They even tested it and got 127 mpg out of it. Well, now they’ve crowned it king of the hill for 2011, bestowing upon it their coveted Car Of The Year award.
It’s not a big surprise because the Volt uses similar components to most of the hybrid vehicles on the road, but gets superior fuel economy, and does so without sacrificing looks or creature comforts. Congrats to everyone at GM who worked on the Volt, it’s well-deserved.
